If you have listened to Epic316Music for more than a minute, you have heard the heartbeat: the Bible alone, grace alone, faith alone, Christ alone, and the glory of God alone. Those five phrases β the Five Solas of the Reformation β are not slogans. They are the guardrails that keep the gospel the gospel. Here they are, simply explained.
SOLA SCRIPTURA β SCRIPTURE ALONE
The Bible is the final authority for what we believe and how we live. Creeds, pastors, and traditions can help, but Scripture sits above them all. That is why every Epic316Music song starts in the text β the lyrics are built straight out of the passage, not out of my opinions. When the church in every age drifts, the cure is always the same: back to the Book.
SOLA GRATIA β GRACE ALONE
Salvation is a gift, not a wage. God does not split the cost with us. We bring the sin; He brings the mercy. If grace could be earned, it would not be grace. This is why the songs keep returning to Romans and Ephesians β left to ourselves we were dead, and God made us alive. Dead people do not contribute. They just come to life and sing.
SOLA FIDE β FAITH ALONE
We are made right with God not by our works, our rituals, or our sincerity, but by trusting in Christ β receiving Him, resting on Him. Faith is not a work we perform to impress God; it is empty hands held out to a full Savior. The moment a sinner looks away from himself and looks to Christ, he has all of Christ β and Christ is enough.
SOLUS CHRISTUS β CHRIST ALONE
No mediator but Jesus. No supplement to His cross. His life, death, and resurrection are the whole ground of our hope, and adding anything to Him only subtracts from Him. This is the difference between religion and the gospel: religion says "do more"; Christ says "it is finished."
SOLI DEO GLORIA β TO THE GLORY OF GOD ALONE
Why does any of this matter? Because salvation is God's work from first to last, He gets the glory from first to last. That is the goal of Epic316Music β not streams, not applause, but that God would be glorified and His people built up, one Scripture song at a time.
