"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose." — Romans 8:28 (ESV)
This promise isn't "all things are good." Some things are loss, and God doesn't ask you to call them otherwise. The promise is that all things work together for good — in the hands of a God who wastes nothing. When His answer is "no," it is never because He stopped loving you; the cross settled that question forever. The same purpose that called you is carrying you — through the unanswered prayer, not around it. His grace is not a consolation prize. His grace is enough.
