"Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him, but the righteous shall live by his faith." — Habakkuk 2:4 (ESV)
Before Romans quoted it, a prophet lived it. Habakkuk stood on the watchtower with hard questions: evil was winning, judgment was coming, and God's answer seemed slow. God's reply was not a timetable — it was a way to live inside the waiting: the proud man's soul is puffed up and crooked; the righteous live by faith. Faith, here, is not a feeling of confidence. It is staying upright when everything around you bends — trusting the character of a God whose promises outlast the invasion. Centuries later this single sentence would free a monk, ignite a Reformation, and carry untold believers through dark centuries. Whatever you are waiting on God for today, this is the posture: not puffed up, not panicked — planted. The righteous live by faith, and faith is never finally disappointed.
