"I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth." — Psalm 121:1–2
The psalmist asks the question every believer asks in a hard week: from where does my help come? The hills were where the idols sat — high places, rival refuges, every visible source of strength. He looks at them all and answers himself: my help comes from the LORD — not from the hills, but from the One who made the hills, and heaven and earth besides. Your help does not come from your savings, your health, your connections, or your own resilience; those are hills. They are real, and they are not God. The Maker of heaven and earth is. Whatever you are scanning the horizon for today, lift your eyes higher than the hills. Help has a name, and it is not "eventually." It is the LORD.
